Your patio is for yearlong use. Now that the summer is here, you will definitely like to spend more time out of doors admiring nature, drawing energy from her. Soon, the fall too will be here and when it comes, you will like to sit in your patio watching the birds flying south and the leaves turning yellow. You do not need much to make your patio fit for yearlong use; just get a patio sofa set, a patio umbrella and a patio heater. Only remember that a patio fixture should always be made from weather resistant and UV proof material so that it can be left out of doors round the year without any problem. Therefore, the sofa sets meant for your patio should also be weather and UV resistant. Of course, it is always better if you wrap them up with suitable sofa covers if the temperature turns sub-zero. Otherwise, you can leave them as it is.

There are different types of weatherproof sofas suitable for patio use readily available in the market. Let us have look at that:
• Teak wood sofas are very elegant and durable, but they are quite expensive.
• Patio sofa made from shorea, eucalyptus and cedar wood is less expensive, but not cheap. However, they too are weather resistant and nice looking.
• Wicker patio sofas, made from resin wicker on the other hand are quite affordable, but very elegant.
• Resin patio sofa is available in wood finish too.
• Cast aluminum sofas come mostly in periodic style, but you can find them in contemporary style as well.

The outdoor wicker sofas as we have already hinted are usually made from resin wicker. Never buy a natural wicker set for outdoor use. They cannot stand any kind of precipitation and if they are left exposed to natural elements, they do not take long to disintegrate. The artificial wicker sofa sets on the other hand are very sturdy and can last your lifetime because they are cent percent weatherproof, UV-proof and pest resistant.

Other than sofas, you also have all kinds of chairs, loungers and tables made from resin wicker and therefore, even if you do not want to buy the whole set together you can always start with a single piece and then keep adding matching pieces as is suitable or is feasible. Truly, buying a whole set may not be viable all the time. It often becomes practical to start with one piece. In such a case, you can always buy an outdoor loveseat and then slowly build up the set. Only make sure that their design is complementary to the original piece.

Loveseats made for outdoor use is available as part of a patio sofa set as well. Moreover, they are available as much in resin wicker as in wood and cast aluminium. Wrought iron was another popular material once upon a time, but may be because of their weight, they are not much in demand now. The cast aluminum has taken its place now.

Other than patio sofa, we also need a patio umbrella and a patio heater to make the patio yearlong livable. Now that summer is here, get the umbrella first for not only comfort, but also as protection against cancer causing UV rays. The patio heaters will come in use from late fall only and so that should be the next target. Meanwhile start looking for accessories such as patio rugs. Also, look for suitable plants potted in beautiful planters, water bodies like fountains or a small lily pool, bird houses and feeders etc. Such items make the patio more inviting. People will automatically come out to sit; you will not have to drag them out.
